Writing Strategy: Get inspired every day

Getting inspiration from anything within reach is a piece of cake for other writers. The rest suffer from what we call alibi-don't-write-one-word. Yes, we don't always have the energy to keep writing. A lonely journey to becoming "unseen and unheard" for a week, a month, or a year; focusing time and resources on finishing the story until readers clamor for more.

So how do we get the inspiration to keep going, keep pushing until THE END part is done?

Here are some ways to get inspired even without energy. As long as you indulge your passion for stitching together characters, events, settings, and motivations, you're on the exciting path to writing your magnum opus and publishing it for the world to share. Both are fun. and wisdom.

1. Look around you - look, feel, smell, touch the various stimuli that could be the seed of an idea or the springboard to the overwhelming, unstoppable grab of your fans, the readers out there who are voraciously devouring your every book. I create

2. Make yourself hungry. Yes, for ideas, experiences, wisdom from failure, and even immersion in a world different from your own. Don't be afraid to put yourself in other people's shoes and understand their struggles. This way, you will learn something new, fresh and relevant to your writing assignment, maybe not today, but tomorrow. Yes, all stimuli around us require our maximum attention.

3. Listen. Eavesdropping is not a sin. It is a must for writers like you. You can take something away from people's conversations, complaints, and such about their work, day-to-day work, and so on. Maybe the story you're writing needs sharp dialogue, a compelling script, or even some wisdom to ponder from a grumpy old man's sarcastic response.

4. Observe. Activating all your senses to get the feeling of being a sponge can be a lot of fun. Absorbing the different vibes of people struggling, and earning a living to survive, especially in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, is a great learning experience. Get to know their stories and learn a thing or two so you can write your future stories to get your readers involved.

5. Build castles in the air. Never be afraid to let loose, be a mental rebel against societal norms, and create a different world so that your unique characters can flourish amidst the set standards of sanity and saintliness. Yes, you never know if the world you're building might be the next big thing to captivate readers along with an amazing main character - likened to my Wattpad story: Beautiful Chaos and Beautiful Catastrophe. Oh, what a promotion my child is.

Well, there will be more to come as we continue on our journey to make writing therapy for the broken soul, but even if the road is hard, the road is still going, no matter what. Keep writing, and keep expressing yourself to the world to see the beauty of your mind despite all the obstacles. Keep fighting for your dreams. Keep writing to make others forget their burdens, if only for an hour or two.
